The Association of Ontario’s Health Centres (AOHC) is Ontario’s voice for community-governed primary health care.
We represent 107 community-governed primary health care organizations. Our membership includes Ontario’s Community Health Centres, Aboriginal Health Access Centres, Community Family Health Teams and Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics.
We share a strong commitment to advance health equity and recognize that access to the highest attainable standard of health is a fundamental human right.
Our member centres work hand in hand with those they serve. Each is governed by a board made up of clients, community members, health providers and community leaders. Community governance enables health services to be more easily oriented towards what community members identify as their most important needs.
AOHC, as well as our members, believe good health is much more than something you get in a medical clinic. We believe that better health begins in our homes, in our schools, in our workplaces, and in the communities where we live. Our goal is therefore to work towards a complete state of wellbeing for individuals, families and entire communities.
