About the project
Funding received in 2017 to develop 4 Inclusion, Equity and Diversity in Governance online training modules in English and French. Project is a partnership between AOHC and Ryerson University Chang School’s Diversity OnBoard as well as Health Nexus.
Modules developed by project coordinator, Anu Radha Verma with input from all partner organizations and AOHC members including rural and urban board members, Executive Directors and members from the anti-black racism,
LGBT and Francophone moral owner groups.
Each online module includes practical tools and resources including a common evidence-based Inclusive Leadership in Governance Framework. Modules are approximately 25 minutes in length can be taken individually or as a board.
- Inclusive Leadership Framework: Boards describe / recall / identify concepts related to inclusive leadership: diversity, cultural humility, intersectionality, allyship and equity.
- Board Membership and Authentic Engagement: Boards locate and select tools and resources to support and evaluate inclusive board recruitment & engagement practices.
- Board Governance Part One: Boards identify strategies for inclusive community engagement when strategic planning and with decision-making processes.
- Board Governance Part Two: Boards identify inclusion strategies that they can use, through governance, to directly influence organizational practices.
