Trans health connection mentorship program

Are you new to trans health care? Looking for peer clinical mentors and a community of practice? If you are curious about topical issues around trans health and eager to connect with other providers, our trans health connection mentorship program is right for you! This is a weekly opportunity for professional service providers across the province to call in by telephone and connect with clinicians from the Sherbourne Health Centre LGBT primary health team. Providers are invited to build knowledge, ask questions, and share experiences.

Each week at least one clinician is on the line, accompanied by a wide range of different providers across the province who work with trans clients. Each session explores questions and issues ranging from hormone doses to mental health and advocacy concerns.

These sessions will take place every Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. through teleconferencing. To register for the call, or to learn more, please contact the trans health connection coordinator, Jordan Zaitzow, at jzaitzow@rainbowhealthontario.ca

Reminder: Community Health Week has moved to October

Just in case your centre was starting to plan for Community Health Week, we wanted to remind you that the week-long celebration has been moved to the first week of October. The decision was made at a recent AOHC board meeting. The reason:  the extensive planning required to make Community Health Week a success will no longer conflict with the extensive planning required to make the annual AOHC conference a success!

And of course don't forget to register for the conference at aohc.org/conference
